Venerable Heng Sure will be back in Sydney again, after coming from the
World Parliament of Religions in Melbourne. If you havent heard, the World Parliament is starting Thursday 3rd Dec till Wednesday 10th Dec, with guests from the HH Dalai Lama and Ven. Thích Nhất Hanh. If you plan on coming, let us know so you can also meet up with other Mitrians going down.
Anyway, we are lucky enough to have Ven. Heng Sure speak for us about Chanting. Huh, chanting? What has it got to do with meditation, Buddhism, or even enlightenment. Maybe it was something my Buddhist grandmother did but I didn't remember seeing any of the cool kids at school doing it, so maybe its not for me. Venerable Heng Sure explains all this, dispels the myths and puts it all into a Western Context. This event will be a fundraiser for the up and coming Conference in May next year. Although all our events are free, there's a suggested donation of $15 to help us get even more cooler teachers next year.
